In order to advance the mission of helping displaced communities in Colombia access the basic human necessities of health care, education, housing and shelter, and work force development, The Colombian Peace Fund has developed an initiative which requests a tax-deductible donation equivalent to one day of work yearly. This initiative is appropriately called "One Day for Colombia. For comparative purposes the following chart illustrates yearly monies paid in Federal U.S. taxes and the length of time that is required to gather those tax dollars, in days, and months, for different U.S. tax brackets, vs. the modest request of the donation equivalent to one day of work “One Day for Colombia”
